we called those the "bull gears" and  friend of mine that about 6 months ago got all of his older stuff out and set it up for his son, just ordered about 6 of those from Con-Cor took about a month to get, but he did get them, and they STILL run great and they are probably from the early 1970's run. Doug:  Mine were probably some of the earliest, when they still used decals for the GN nose herald.  Maybe a second-run motor would have fixed the problem, but being on a budget, I never tried another one!
