NSN B39-8

I came across a reference to a kit made by N Scale Nevada for a B38-8 back in the early 90's. I vaguely remember this, but never seen a kit or a built model. Does anyone have photos?

I think I remember seeing one in person about 20 years ago when I was involved in NTrak in Denver. Caboose Hobbies had a selection of NSN clear cases with SP-goodness inside. It was out of my price range and experience level. Luckily Atlas made a better model but it would still be cool to see one of the kits. I wonder if Wiseman Model Services has one of the originals?

I've got one of the B39-8 kits still in the box around here somewhere....

IIRC correctly it came out around the same time as the Maxi-III kits - maybe slightly before?

James, would love to see the kit if you could dig it out. Maybe a comparison with the Atlas model?

Sure, I'll dig it out of storage next time I'm there.

I know John based the shells on the Bachmann C40-8 model and I'm pretty sure the Atlas body is a B40-8 too.

This will be cool to see.
My first experience with N Scale of Nevada was seeing a single Gunderson well car that was built from the kit. This was the early 90s, before those were available from anyone in plastic.
Now Wiseman Model Services has the kit available again: http://www.ebay.com/itm/N-SCALE-WISEMAN-MODEL-SERVICES-NSN-RC02-GUNDERSON-HUSKY-STACK-WELL-CAR-KIT-/191277967763

He also has a couple more favorites:

I have two GP60s built from his shells. Still my favorites, just need to get them running with DCC.

What other locomotives did NSN do? I know he was very focused on SP.

I know he did the U33/36C, to fit the Kato U30C chassis.  I have a pair of them, in GN and NP paint, and believe he made a special SP version as well.  Not modeling the SP I have no idea what made it special.

The headlight arrangement and L shape window on the cab, nose headlight and battery box covers? and no rear SP light package installed on the rear of the long hood.

I purchased one of those Gunderson well car kits when they were first released. The kit was very nice and very pricey.
No longer on the roster.

Spades:  Thank you.  So it sounds like we can count the two U-boats as separate models.
