hello I was using sparay paint on an older athearn blue box engine I grabbed a can of krylon color master "Satin" black when I was supposed to use flat black, could I spray it over with flat black or would dull cote flatten the satin?

I'd certainly try the Dullcote before stripping the satin paint off.  Besides, before shooting the Dullcote, the satin paint might take decals better than the flat paint.

Hope this helps,

ok the dilema is over  I ended up trying to strip the satin off by having it sit in a tub of 90% rubbing alcohol just deep enough to get the black off. it did not strip off but it dulled it, so then I repainted it with a flat craft paint, not as smooth but acceptable so the shell of the engine is painted, next is painting the handrails and stanchions black presently they are white ( this was a BN sd40-2 green and black it is now black and gray for MRail)
