No risk here John. Excellent writeup for DCC/Electronics forum.  ;)

I know that you won't change your reasoning for not putting it there, and I won't change mine as to why that it is where this info belongs.  Maybe I should be a librarian.  :)

The world needs librarians!   But what would you do with a romance novel set 200 years in the future and using time travel?  Romance section?  Or SciFi section?

John C.

PS - Do I get any credit for posting the component pics in the DCC forum? ;)

Geez John, you're killin'me!   My head is going to explode! :D
Sounds like SciFi is the prevailing theme (the time travel nailed it) - SciFi section!   8)

You do get credit for the other post in the DCC section.  8)  But breaking this into 2 separate posts makes it confusing. 1 demerit! So, it is a wash.  ;)

Maybe the ideal sound system would be 4 basic boards . One for ridged , articulated , 3 cylinder , and shay .

with plug in add on boards for loco pacific chuff sound , loco pacific whistle sound , loco pacific start up sounds .

If I see what they can store in the WOW sound decoder, then you don't need separate boards. It's amazing what they can storen in a relative small decoder. It's just like computers, there was a time we needed to compress hard disk to safe space, not anymore :).

Hi John
Just catching up with your awesome work on the FEF.
I'm not a steam fan following the poor performance of the very early releases way back, but I might just be starting to sway.
Thanks also for all of the great posts on installing sound decoders into N Scale diesel locos you make it look soooo easy.
Rod.
