C&O Trainworx Trailer Flat

I found some Trainworx 85 ft flatcars in C&O paint on special, and I was wondering if these were around still around during the mid 1970's. I believe they have a 1959 build date, not sure if they were sold off or repurposed before my era. I need to buy the C&O color guide, obviously no one I know has one!

The only photo I found on the three online sites I checked was the 1959 builder's photo.  That could mean that people didn't take pictures of them, or that those pictures haven't been posted online, or that they're on sites I didn't check, but they don't seem to have been common in the 70s.

On  the other hand, the GN's 85 ft cars did last into the BN era, so C&O's very well could have.

The January 1969 ORER has no cars in the 814XX series listed.  There are 49 85' flat cars listed an the 81300-81399 series.

A couple places on-line say that these cars were renumbered into TTX series 479142-479191.

Bummer that I can't use them, but thanks for all the info. Now knowing that they made it to my era however I wish I had bought the GN flats! I had passed on them and the Rock Island flats assuming they had been assimilated into the TTX fleet. I will just have to keep my eyes peeled.

Thanks again for your help!

The cars that were still showing on the ORER roster in '69 may have been converted to AP flats IIRC. Love the Trainworx flats, very reliable cars.
