peteski, it was a 4 wheel truck with a long drawbar but it didn't have the screw adjuster on the passenger 4 wheel trucks.

Oh, a standard short-wheelbase freight truck with extended coupler.  That (to me) would be totally unacceptable.

If you can make a reliable truck rebuild I'm in for 8 pairs!

me too…  got some CalTrain cars I'd like to see actually roll someday.

What I did with my Bachmann "tubes" was chamfer the axle hole till where it was almost razor sharp.This made a huge difference in rolling ability.After the GVR bought a bunch of "tubes" from Amtrak they replaces the trucks with modern outside bearing trucks with Fox Valley wheels.Now they really roll nicely.

Athern's trucks have gotten worse and worse. Even the trucks on their latest run of tank cars are not as free rolling as they should be.
