Kato smoothside baggage (?)

Hello all...
I'm looking for some advice from those who have or know of the Kato amoothside baggage cars...
 I'm preparing for a couple of smoothside baggage builds, NYC and Erie, using some very nice Laser Horizons sides. The sides are very thin, so using American Limited cores doesn't seem feasible; I can definitely see using an existing car as a core for these particular builds.
I've acquire a couple of Walthers smoothside cars in anticipation of using these, but they are slightly short (no worry-they'll be used for a couple of Santa Fe ACF smoothside baggage-express cars)
Has Kato made more than one smoothside baggage car?...particularly, a 74' version?...
The COLA baggage seems to be a full 85' length...is there another?

I've used the American Ltd core kits for very thin sided materials. On a baggage car its not difficult to brace it internally (makes for a very solid car). I've used the trick on sleeping cars too.

The original Kato smoothside baggage is not full-length, but I think it is shorter than 74 feet.

Kato has undec parts in stock.  You can find them HERE.

According to Fred Klein's site, it's 71 feet.

The Kato 106-3512 Amtrak Smoothside Phase I baggage cars (road numbers 1075 and 1076) are 140.5 mm long (including the diaphragms) according to my digital calliper. That is approximately 5.53 inches.

Without diaphragms the baggage car is 137.3 mm long. That converts to 72 feet if I got my math correct.

71 or 72 ' is still going to be slightly short for my needs...
I'll have to figure a way to use American Limited core kits for these two.
