To give credit where it is due, the etching was inspired by the work of Bryan Bussey. The main difference is that his worked out well, and mine still sit in a box on the workbench. I had problems integrating it onto the car side, mainly due to my design and my lack of skill. I have gone a different route by commissioning a 3D design for the sides for printing at a high end shop. If that works out well I can see making castings available, but that will be some time down the road. I hope I live long enough to finish this project!  ;)

Don't feel bad.  I've got tons of etchings that I've tried and re-tried and re-tried.  Same for RP models.  I still have models I've been working on for years that I haven't found the final solution for, whether etched or milled or RP'd or any combination thereof.  Occasionally, I get lucky and finish one. :)

What's the list of all the railroads who used FGE service (pre-PennCentral)? New Haven, Pennsy ... and?
I suppose all  the WFEX/BREX cars should be included...

 ;)
  Brian,
a 1948 list of FGE Owner Roads doesn't include:
  A&WP
  Alton
  PM
  VGN
  WofA
are these included under their Owner Roads ,or are they Roads Serviced by FGE ?
PM became an owner road after selling  FGE 125 refrigerator cars during 1940,
they received 911 shares of FGE.
but the shares went to C&O after the PM-C&O merger during 1947.
there is another list of FGE Serviced Roads that is much longer than the owner list.
will post that when it turns up.

Since the WFE and BREX cars were in the same pool as the FGE, was the old-style lettering of those two the same as the old-style FGE lettering? I'm trying to find a good prototype picture/diagram source for those letters!

heres some extra FGE History while looking for the list of roads Serviced by FGE.
FGE was formed when Armour was forced to divest of the Original Fruit Growers Express
to a group led by Henry Spencer of the Southern RR. on 3/18/20 a New Fruit Growers Express
was Incorporated in Delaware to take over the assets of the Armour owned FGE.ten RRs
were the Original owners of the New FGE.3 more roads joined by the end of 1920.
WFE joined in 9/23 as a Full Partner of FGE.
BRE joined in 6/26 as a Full Partner of FGE
  C&S and FW&D didn't join BRE until 6/32.
Pere Marquette was the last road to become an owner of FGE in 1940.
FGE did not Service the States of Maine,Vermont, and New Hampshire east of the Mississippi.
FGE did Service 40 of the then 48 states.
FGE did not show service to Canada, but GN did have the GN of Manitoba lines..
   more to follow.

I would think that it would be given FGE's ownership of the other reefer operators.
