The Greys are just plain ubiquitous, so that would seem a no-brainer.  But the Belles are crowd pleasers and will sell to many on looks alone, so they'd be crazy not to do those too.

I'll probably wait for some Belles personally.

... They had a lot of variants on the SD40T/45T models so that gives me hope that they will try for the same with this model.

Intermountain confirmed to me today that the CP units will have the non-beaded blower duct and that the CR's will have Flexicoil trucks.

I should have asked more, like nose lengths, but I think they've more important things to do. I'm definately going to get a CR SD40-2... have shot a few of them here in Hogtown.

If they're going through the effort for the trucks and blower ducts, I'd assume they're gonna get the nose right too.

I DO wish IM's marketing efforts were a bit better. Putting info like that up on their own website sure wouldn't be the worst thing ever.

If they want to sell $250 engines, they should at least give it some effort.

Ed, couldn't agree more... they really need to give a little more detail. I imagine the only market for road specific power (vs those only concerned with the paint scheme) would be the same folks that'd be gunshy to pre-order without more info. They'd have benefited with more images of the SD40-2W as well, since it seems that many out there were not aware of the level of detail on them.

You're absolutely correct! The only photo I'd seen of the SD40-2Ws made them look like absolute garbage. But it was only something like 400px wide and compressed all to hell.

The photos you (I think) posted of them made them look really good.

But, I'm not buying without either seeing them in person, or seeing a REALLY good photo online.

One other point - I believe the NS #'s announced last month are ex-CR also.  The artwork show PRR sublettering.
