Question on CP 35893 Mandarin Orange Express

Looking for information on CP 35893.  Was the roof half black and half white, or all white?  Was the roofwalk already gone by the time the car was painted in the special scheme?

And what scheme did the remaining CP Rail cars wear in this fruit train — the standard yellow?  Thanks.

Micro-Trains did a black and white roof. I don't know if that's correct.

It was a marketing "one off" chosen at random and painted in 1978 for the fall and Christmas season manderin run (it ran right behind the power units) it had its roof walkway removed and the paint for the roof appears in two photos I have to follow the white-black sides although I can't 100 percent confirm that Bryan. I will get confirmation fir you. Yes; all the others were in the Action Yellow.

Thanks Pud.  In the photo above, it appears the roof ribs are white, so I need confirmation.  The configurations that previous models have featured may not be prototypical.

It looks like in that photo that half the roof ribs are black.

Yes; all the others were in the Action Yellow.

What about something like this car?

I should be more specific; when the cars were repainted into CP Rail from Canadian Pacific Railways they were all Action Yellow; not any special scheme. Bryan knows full well that not all cars were repainted into the Action Yellow scheme from the traditional boxcar red CPR scheme before they were SOS so I assumed he meant was there any other special schemes.... there were not in that series.

I threw the question to some guys at the CPSIG/Historical society; they are very familiar with that car. When I hear back I'll let you know.

And to me it appears they are all white albeit dirty, which is why I want photographic or painting specs confirmation on what it actually was.

Thanks Mike.
