KOBO still employs the classic KATO over-spray technique.

I've noticed that after looking at mine the second and third time, where the blue from the sill is slowly flowing up on the handrail stanchions and bleeding into the white.

I don't mind the fuel tank too much, because I have enough other Milwaukee Road did-not-exists already that I can just claim that Milwaukee Road was actually in good enough shape that its track could support a full weight fuel tank instead of a shortened version.

I am also stuck with a couple decal sets, though, now. I guess someone may still want to buy them and do a proper version of the loco.

It sounded like a good idea at the time... too bad the caboose wasn't in on the plan.

At the risk of making Wyatt's blood boil, I think this is Kato's biggest weakness.

Hey Wyatt, if you want to stop the criticism, stop posting HO-scale-size photos of N-scale models.  ;)   That is one sweet looking scheme though.   8)
