Bachmann 2-10-2 tender information needed

Does anyone have any information or images of the factory installed decoder installation in the tender of the 2-10-2?

I want to swap out the Bachmann tender and replace it with a RivaRossi/DimiTrains clear vision tender used for the old 0-8-0 Indiana Harbour Belt switcher. The shorter tenders were used on Canadian steamers.

I've only had it for a few days and I don't want to tear it apart until it's run-in for a bit.

Any advice is appreciated.

Thanks in advance

It has a seperate decoder soldered to a light board. I think the problem you may run into is fitting the decoder into the switcher tender. You also need to wire up to the 6 pin plug that connects to the tender light board. It will require the addition of some resistors for the headlight as well.

It won't be a simpleswap. You will also need to create a drawbar. I have used the RR tender on an 0-6-0 project and added Bachmann trucks and leaf spring pickup to maintain good pickup.

I didn't do DCC in this one yet though.

Big Train,
The Bachmann USRA short tender is an almost perfect dimensional fit and has all wheel pickup. I would simply swap the USRA shell for the IHB. They are available on feebay for a reasonable price.
