Looking for a small amount of Peco 55 flex

Hi guys!  This is my first time posting here.  A friend of mine (MC Fujiwara)  recommended I try posting here in my search for a piece or two of peco 55 flex.  I'm using peco turnouts but atlas flex on my layout, and I don't want to "ruin" the turnouts trying to connect them directly, I was hoping to connect the peco turnouts to an inch or so of peco flex, then to the atlas c55 flex.  The problem is, I can't find ANY peco flex for a reasonable price.  It's always about $20-30 shipping on top of the $7 or so for the piece, or huge lots of 20. 

I don't need a full piece, just some scraps.  If anyone has any peco code 55 flex scraps I could buy I'd be very very appreciative.

I don't have any Peco track, but when I did I just filed off the lower rail base and regular C55 joined right up to it.

Couple of things...
1. I might be able to help you out, but there's a good chance I wouldn't be able to get it headed your way until late January.   I have some C55 left over from a previous layout that would meet your needs.
2. If you don't want to wait for me, I would suggest contacting someone that has it in stock and asking if they'll cut up a couple of pieces for you.  Say, in thirds for example.   The expense with shipping flextrack is due to the length.  If they would be willing to cut it first, the shipping should drop considerably.

If you want to try my route, let me know.  I might be able to get it to you quicker, but I cannot promise anything.  Besides the normal holiday/family activities that almost everyone enjoys/endures, I am also involved with a college bowl game, and then my real job features a huge trade show the second week in January.

I've been scouring suppliers for peco flex but everyone just sells them in 20 piece boxes, or refuses to cut them up for me.  I know it's a non-standard request but what ever happened to customer service?  Even places I've spent $1000 at over the last couple years wouldn't cut the track to save on shipping...

I'm trying to find a solution that doesn't involve "damaging" the peco turnouts.  So I figured an inch of peco flex soldered to the end of my atlas flex, then joined to the turnout with an official peco joiner would do the trick.  I also have some yards that will need a bunch of half-inch spacers between turnouts so would be much easier again to just use peco flex for that rather than fiddling and filing for every single connection.

Atlas flex isn't coming till January (I HOPE) so I have to wait anyways.  Thanks so much for the offer to help, Doug.

If you can't find any Peco flex, buy a piece of Atlas code 83.  The rail height is the same, and you can solder the c55 to it just as well.  For the short piece you're talking about I'd remove the ties after soldering then replace them with notched stripwood to match the Peco inset rail.  Or, if you have some, you can use the extra ties Peco includes for filling gaps at joints.

I think (but don't remember for certain) that it was 25 posts when I started.  It is a nuisance for new members, but does seem to work to keep the spammers out. 

You'll get used to Dee.  Her sense of humor can be a little odd, but she's one of the nicest people here.  She's also better looking than most of the ones I work with...
