ALCo Action on the WNY&P - Sept 2013

Not my video. This was posted in the LAL Rail Yahoo group.

A recent visit to the WNY&P.

Starts out with about 2 minutes of stills in the Olean yard and enginehouse and then some shots taken along the lines in the videos below.

(A) A Cuba, NY turn  East on the former Erie Southern Tier line - Looks like I'll have to get some ARMN reefers for this. There is a cheese factory there.
(B) A DFT turn down the PRR Buffalo-Harrisburg line to Port Allegany
(C) The Hornell, NY turn, again on the former Erie Southern Tier line.

Nice video! I'll be down there in a few days - LOVE the WNYP. Taking a week off to head to Erie, Meadville, and Olean. I would love to catch them sneaking into Hornell... last I heard was that the turn to Cuba for the cheese factory was the only action east of Olean.

Mike,
I was there back in July. Make sure you stop in the office and see Kyle McLaughlin. She is the Assistant General Manager and a very nice person. She will have you sign a release and let you do most anything on the railroad as long as you are safe doing it. You can also check in with the dispatch office while you are there and get a rundown of what trains are running and what units they will have. Have a great time because I did!!!!!!

Very nice people and can't wait to go back and do it again next year.

Thanks for posting the videos, they're great.  Laura and I visited there last year, had a wonderful time.  Hope to come back to your half of the globe again next year, and spend a little more time there.
Cheers
