That does look good. Even the small point of light, instead of a larger illuminated lens, is bothering me less and less.

The point of light is close to the look of a real SA with a close-up prism. http://www.trainweb.org/signals/usssls_closeup.htm

after rigging a rotary switch to test the fiber optic 'focuser'...I tacked the assembly in place on the layout...using velcro to hold the 9 volt battery and the focuser in place under the layout.
Here are a couple of pics in full light to show the signal and lighting to advantage...I'm more than pleased with the scale effect the LED and fiber optic combination provide....a WINNER in my book!
Thanks for looking,
~Bruce

They're definitely beautiful signals but I have my heart set on some PRR position signals since that is one part of my freelanced lines will use.

Those Magnetic Flagman Wigwags on the other hand definitely will be in use even though the prototype had already started using your typical crossing signal.  May yet try to do a kitbash of the two (as a few were done) but it is the idea of no crossing sign that helps me, since I will be using the wide crossing signs on my signals and on posts.
