Ninth Annual N Scale Vehicle of the Year Awards

This year the absentee ballot for those unable to attend the National N scale Convention in Milwaukee, Wisconsin will be a “survey” which you will need to access from the N Scale Vehicle Association’s web site beginning May 15, 2013.  However, you may preview the nominees now!  This ballot can also be used for early voting if anyone attending the convention will not have the opportunity to vote in person.  Please vote for one (1) new vehicle model and one (1) enhanced vehicle model.  This is an honor system, and while we encourage everyone to vote, we also encourage everyone to vote only once!  The last day for early/absentee voting will be June 15, 2013.  http://nscalevehicles.org/

After viewing the nominees for both the New and Enhanced N Scale Vehicle of the Year Awards, follow the link to the absentee ballot which will be posted on May 15, 2013.  While the ballot also incorporates the photos of the models, the bigger than life photos are only available on the NSVA web site.  (Just click on the thumbnail to see the larger photo!)

We have a great selection of models this year, and in preparation of the voting, the nominees for Ninth Annual N Scale Vehicle of the Year Awards are listed below.

Nominees for New N Scale Vehicle of the Year Award (You will be able to vote for one):

GHQ RD8 crawler with logging arch

Herpa McCormick D 326 farm tractor

Herpa Opel Kadett B coupe

NZT D2 crawler

Showcase Miniatures IH Loadstar flatbed

Trainworx 40-foot exterior post Flexi-Van trailer

Nominees for Enhanced N Scale Vehicle of the Year Award (You will be able to vote for one):

Atlas Ford Explorer with railroad markings

Busch Mercedes-Benz ML SUV

Classic Metal Works De Soto sedan

Classic Metal Works GM TD 3610 transit bus in generic paint schemes

Lemke Volkswagen T2 Westfalia camper

Trainworx 40-ft hi-cube trailer in additional paint schemes

Thank you for your participation in the process.  The manufacturers that have won the N Scale Vehicle of the Year Awards in the past frequently included an acknowledgement in their advertising.  They do take the awards seriously!  The previous winners of the awards may be viewed on the NSVA’s web site.  http://nscalevehicles.org/vehicle_of_year.php

How about the NZT Products Grumman LLV (US Postal Service Delivery Truck)?  Or the School bus? Didn't make the cut?

I think the timing was off for David's other two but I agree - they do deserve consideration.

NZT for the new, and the bus for the "enhanced", what ever that means.
Never argue with idiots; they'll drag you down to their level, then beat you with experience.

After the first week of absentee voting for the Ninth Annual N Scale Vehicle of the Year Awards, it is shaping up to be a couple of very close races.  Be sure to cast your vote early if you will not be able to attend the convention.  Here is the link to the models competing for the awards, and the absentee ballot.

Carter, I'm still curious as to why neither the school bus or the postal delivery truck from NZT were not selected as nominees for the award.

Pete,

There are only six models nominated in each category.  All three of the NZT Products vehicle models are in the new model category.  The school bus and mail truck are great models, but they were just barely edged out but the six models that did receive the nomination for the New N Scale Vehicle of the Year Award.

And, since they were released after January 1, 2013, they will still be in the running to be nominated for next year's award.

We are into the final week of absentee/early voting for the Ninth Annual N Scale Vehicle of the Year Awards.  Here is the link to the N Scale Vehicle Association’s web site where you will find the link to the ballot:  http://nscalevehicles.org/

Even if you are planning on attending the National N Scale Convention in Milwaukee later this month, you may vote early.  The “live” voting will only be available during registration on Wednesday afternoon and during the Swap-A-Rama Friday morning.  There are a lot of overlapping activities at the convention this year, so don’t miss your opportunity to vote!

Carter

P.S.  The voting so far has been really close with just a few votes separating the leaders from the rest of the pack in both categories.  Every vote counts!

The results of the voting have been posted on the N Scale Vehicle Association's home page:  http://nscalevehicles.org/

Congratulations GHQ and Atlas.

I am sorry it has taken so long to get this information posted.  I have been really busy since the conclusion of the convention.   :D
