I think Lowell Smith is the lead-dog on special runs, so that is how he has the clout to get really
special things made - but I didn't know people were still buying this stuff.

How much do they cost, btw? I dropped out of special run collecting at about 25 per car.

The Lowell Smith cars ain't cheap (around $60 per). But at least for me they are the best/only game in town when it comes to modernized heavyweight business cars. I used one of the aforementioned as a "close enough" stand-in for a DM&E car I wanted to model -

Cheers,
-Mark

"Is it called a 'Harriman Roof' ?"

Its popular to call an arched roof a "Harriman" roof but among the differences was what appears to be overlapped sections of the roof, as well as the types of vents used.  Arched roofs, at least on most modernized heavyweights, did not have the overlapped sections and are relatively smooth with little to no seams.  Here is a link to a shot that shows some of the detail common on a "Harriman" roof...
