And for those of you who dont know, the Modutrak "group of individuals" are equally as enjoyable to be around as there layout is to observe.

Thanks again.

Thanks Jason, that was kind of you to say. Now, which one of the guys paid you to say that?  ;)

Seriously, it was fun meeting some of the Railwire gang in person. I really enjoyed the Friday night "fun run" we ended up having. Great to see many trains and all the neat equipment running on the layout. Hope we can all do it again sometime!
What a great hobby we have.  :D

Hey, thanks Mike,
I had a great time meeting you guys.  And for those of you who dont know, the Modutrak "group of individuals" are equally as enjoyable to be around as there layout is to observe.

I agree.

Marc

BTW I fixed the setting on the Youtube video of the T1 running on the Modutrack layout. You can find it under 'Pennsy T1 build'. I don't want to post it twice.

Just want to say THANK YOU !! to all those that attended the convention in Milwaukee.  I met alot of great people during the week from all over the USA and world.  All of the comments from the local modelers and clubs that had there layouts open were very positive and they enjoyed all of the visitors.  It was a busy week with all of the tours and activities but I believe everything went fairly smooth.   The Train Show was also very nice.  All of the clubs involved enjoyed talking to all of the attendees.

I enjoyed working with everyone in planning the convention and I am seriously thinking about heading to Roanoke in 2014.

Nice job with everything Keith.  We were happy to be able to set up a day early and keep the room open as long as we wanted.  A lot of miles were logged on the Modutrak layout and it was great to see it put to use.

Thanks to everyone for their warm welcome! It was nice to meet you all personally, some for the first time, after years of forum posts and PMs. Especial thanks for the hosting club for helping me get set up and later packed up. Uncrating 13 ships, and then crating them back up again, was a sweaty job. I had a great show, with lots of new work.

Unfortunately, my new iPhone5 literally blew up on the way home, when I plugged it into the car charger for the first time. It got way too hot to handle. There was something wrong with the battery/power supply from the start. It will be replaced at 8:30 tomorrow morning, but I lost all my notes (at least temporarily) about who would like new ships built. My memory at 65 isn't what it used to be so, if please contact me again if you were expecting me to contact you.

This was a very pleasant show in a nice locale.

I had a great time in Milwaukee and my wife even enjoyed it!  Good to see Bill Denton and Mike and Marshall Skibbe again.  Got to meet Brian Bussey, Pete Nolan, Carter and his amazing collection of vehicles and watched as SuperTurbine ran the Duplex for me.  Amazing stuff, all.

Really enjoyed meeting Bob Lunde.  He and my wife being both of Norwegian heritage really hit it off.  He had several new (to me) downtown office structures with another coming in the fall. I had previously built his Chadwick Tower and left the show with a Temple Tower and Midas Trust.

Brian Bussey gave me a well-deserved kick for not completing my White Tower kit yet.  Gotta go out and buy some Bestine and get started.

Congrats to Bill Denton for a well-deserved win.

Friday night was spent at Mader's, a Milwaukee landmark, for German food.  Weiner Schnitzel ala Holstein (fried egg, anchovy and capers), Sauerbraten, smoked pork loin, potato dumpling, red cabbage and sauerkraut.  My wife and I did a tasting flight of eight (small) beers to round out the meal. After all that cabbage I was not fit to ride with on the way home

Best regards,

Roger

Seusscaboose,  really liked that closing shot of the big steam train over the vegetation! Really enjoyed the interaction with all of the visitors, and got a kick out of all of the guys who wanted to run stuff on the layout, we're all just a bunch of kids at heart! Nice to put some faces to the names I see regularly, think we should have Railwire name tags to attach to convention badges with Railwire name on them so we know who is who! Fun time all around, felt more like a get together than a convention!
