cabs for trainworks trailers

who is currently making cabs for the Trainworks trailers.I have 18 trailers from the new runs and need a few cabs to pull the trailers

There are many companies out there that have produced tractors that can be used with ANY trailer. The decision factors should be your chosen era, and whether your modeling a TOFC Terminal or modeling them in various states on the layout.

Athearn is releasing the Mack R Models again, that would suit the 40 trailer era just fine..

Hi Folks,

You might look at some of the old Con Cor Cabs as well. I was going to suggest Herpa but cannot find anything of much N Scale in their current range.

What years are the Trainworx trailers for?

I might have something coming up depending on the era.

Many of the Trainworx-chosen paint schemes started showing up in mid  to late 60s.  It's a shame Athearn hasn't stepped up with its F850 by now.  Heck, it's a shame I can't find wreckers from old Bachmann vehicle sets, as that would be a good start for a mid-60s day cab.

Athearn Mack R (if they show up)
Con-Cor/Herpa Freightliner or Kenworth
Detail Associates White COE (if you can find one)
GHQ Freightliner  or Peterbilt
Showcase International or Peterbilt

I'm working on a mid-sixties Loadstar, that was a common daycab. SCM just came out with their Loadstar as both a tractor and a straight truck. Oddly, their tractor was done as a tandem-axle with twin stacks. Two configurations I have never seen on a Loadstar (at least not a stock model).

A single-axle daycab tractor would be perfect for the UPS trailers.

As Sizemore said, any cab that fits your era will work, as a TOFC trailer, once off the flat, probably isn't near one of its owner's tractors.   Now, if you're doing a terminal, you'll want a bunch of your road(s)'s tractors, but otherwise, anything goes, within reason.  I doubt that you'd see many food or beer company tractors pulling railroad trailers, as they tended to stay with their own company's trailers.
