Looking for info about the Chlorine Tank Flat Car

I just bought one of the TrainCat kits. I would like to get some reference info about the prototype to help me paint it and design the decals for it. So far I only found one photo of the real car and some photos of a brass H0 model of that car. I also found a low-res decal scan for that brass model. I would appreciate any additional info about the prototype cars.

Here's a pic.

I'm hoping to pick one of those up, but I guess now we'll see.

I might be able to locate more info from one of my Car Builders Cyclopedia's

Thanks Jason - that is exactly the one and only photo I already found.

I 'think' I know of one more picture.  And i'm pretty sure one of my books has the drawing.  I'll look later tonight and see if there's anything else.

The 1940 Car Builder's show two pictures of these cars.  The first, EGBX (Electro Bleaching Gas Company).  The second, PSMX (Pennsylvania Salt Mfg. Co.).  There's a third partial pic that can't make out the name.

I guess one thing I can help with is that the sheet metal for the name is sized different for each depending on how the name fits.

I'm still looking for the other picture I think I have of these cars.

Here is the decal sheet scan I found:

I guess that I do have something to work with.  Would be nice to know the color of those cars. Or if I believe that the brass model has a correct color, I'll just paint it black with silver tanks (possibly with blue bands on the edges).

FWIW, of the two I mentioned, the EBG lettering is better than the PSM (which is pretty generic vs. the pic I have) .  However the PSM appears to match this model better (yes, there were differences).

Sorry for the delay but I just ran across this topic. I have been acquiring information about this particular car for about two years (just in case I ever finish building the one I have started). I have a few pictures and a (very rough) list of owners along with any prototype references I could find. Most of the cars were black (although I have some b&w pictures that look lighter than black) with either silver, black or red tanks.

Here's a list of car owners/numbers that I have been able to assemble:

ACFX 426 (Tank Car Color Guide Vol 1)
ACFX 440 (decal)
ACFX 441 (photo)
ACFX 513 (decal)

UTLX 80000-80003 are believed to be former CILX 90-93. Cars were renumbered in 1956.

VCSX 212 (book? and decal)

SHPX 222 is identified as AAR type FM; similar cars have also been denoted as AAR type TMU because these cars really don't function as flat cars for any lading except removable, high pressure gas cylinders. These cars were used to handle acid gases like chlorine for customers without direct rail service or the inability to unload and store a full tank car load. The last large-scale user of this system is DOD. Many outdated chemical weapons materials traveled their last miles in these unusual tank cars. This car has been imported in brass at least 3 times in the last 30 years and was actually a "dollar model" project in Model Railroader magazine.

Tank Car Color Guide Vol 1. Morning sun books 2010, at pages 120 and 121 there are 5 different photos of this type of car (ICC166A500: ACFX 426, ACFX 522, JCIX 131 (Jones Chemicals), RTCX 340 (Olin Matheison) and SHPX 216 (Dupont).

I'll post the rest of what I have later today.
