Model RR retailer in downtown Baltimore

To say I know nothing of Baltimore is to put an optimistic spin on my lack of knowledge, but I am going to be there in roughly 5 days from now.  Are there any decent model RR retailers mildly close to cruise ships or easily accessible by rapid transit?  I know there was a store called "Klein's" or something like that but I understand it moved.  Anything else survive the economic downturn and good for N scalers?

M.B. Klein's or MBK moved out of downtown and up towards Timonium.  I'm not aware of any other N scale hobby stores in downtown Baltimore.  You can likely access MBK via light rail, which runs nearby.  Perhaps you could Google it or one of the Baltimore locals can give you more information.  It will be worth the effort to make it to the store.

Hope this helps,
Dave

When we return from our cruise, we will have a day to spend in Baltimore so if we can somehow swing it my son and I will try and give Klein's a try, sounds impressive.

Definately go to Klein's.  One of the best model railroad shops on the East Coast.  The light rail does hava a stop near the store but I don't remember what the name of the stop is.

The only light rail stops I remember is one behing the fair grounds and the end of the
line at Hunt Valley- both would be a long walk to Klien, (i think).

MB Klein is on Cockeysville RD,looks to be a light rail stop less than a half mile away, the blue square on the corner of Warren and Beaverdam. And,by the way, don't bring a pile of money, you'll leave with none of it,LOL!!!.

Well I do have a philosophy to not spend money that won't be used on the layout for the next three months, this is to stop me from the "collector" mentality which I have experienced personally.  I find a dollar spent there is a dollar not spent here and my layout was sitting under developed but my collection of goodies was growing and growing.  When I changed my philosophy, it got me out of the "I gotta have it now because its a limited edition...blah, blah, blah" my layout started to move to completion faster.

Hmmm, I wonder if Peco track will fit into my suitcase?  Got to finish that nolix just built and get the rolling stock moving or the railroad will go under with no one to invoice.

MBK is definitely worth the trip and easily accessible by Light Rail, as Lou notes.  Last time I was there I bought several bundles of flex back and brought it home with me on the plane.  I got them to give me an empty track box to pack it in.

FYI, their display space is much less expansive than it used to be.  They now have computer kiosks in the back where you can "order" stuff from their web site and they'll run out back to the warehouse and pull it for you in real time.  It pays to familiarize yourself with their web site and think about making a "wish list" before you go.

Have a good trip.
