Lenny, that is great.

I am still on a roadtrip to round out my goal of taking a train photo in at least 20 states, but here is one I took in May 2011 from a hotel in Baton Rouge, Louisiana as the Mississippi River was rising to flood levels.

Aha. That explains the UP power trailing the consist on a CN train yesterday. My first thought was running off pool miles, but I didn't think that UP and CN did all that much power sharing. I guess I'll be seeing this stuff while it cycles through the paint shop.

HOT!

Yup... for sure! Sexy. Buddy tipped me off that this was on its way on #59. I had all of 30 seconds to get this shot, and that was including a mad dash with a tripod. A sloppy bit of train handling overran the stop by four cars, so my setup strategy was foiled. I really wanted to catch the contrast in the two-tone gray along with the drumhead, but the glare from the platform lights did me in.

The three cars ahead of it were ex-CZ stainless. This PV is for a land-cruise outfit (http://www.travelpullman.com) who is trying to normally run cars in IC paint, but trivial problems on the last run - is a broken axle a problem? - has those cars under special scrutiny at the moment. Oh - #59 normally draws just one P42 and seven cars. This time, instead of another P42 for the additional cars, we got B32-8WH #500. Amtrak must be hurting for power a little bit.

Might have some shots of the MoW equipment I saw downtown; did find out there will probably be some GP30's headed to replace the leased switcher, so I'll hopefully be getting some more shots of it and then a bunch of the 30's when they show up  8)
