Layout expansion debate on the Pacific Interchange RR

Should I go North or West? The North Route would be a 32 ft long 2% run that loops back on itself untill it reaches the reaversing loop.
Industries along the way are Glacer Gravel , the Mountain Lumber saw mill & a small town and freight yard within the Reverse loop area. The scenery would be Mountains with Tunnels & Bridges.

The West route would be a straight narrow 12" wide shelf that runs for 24ft & then reverses back.
The scenery would be farm land. The industries are TBD. The are would be flat with no Grade.
This will reduce my isle width from 44" to 32". I only have guests a few times /year.

Really, in my mind, I'd go north first. You already know what you want to do, it sounds more fun to build, and that's a very scenic description.
However, the West sounds easier to complete, so if you want to quickly expand, I'd go for that

I have decided to go West. I need to make sure I have it finished for NMRA in July 2013.
This section is basically a Staging Yard that can be viewed
