Blue Point controllers and Atlas Code 55 switches

It is a historic day for me as I start laying some track for the Beer Line. Well, that didn't last long as I immediately ran into a question about switch controls. I am using Blue Point manual controllers and the instructions suggest drilling a hole through the center point of the throw bar between the rails. I am using Atlas code 55 switches and it doesn't look this should be done. Any reason to not use the hole on the end of the throw bar since it already exists?

Best wishes, Dave

I use the hole in the end for my Bullfrogs.
Don't see why not the same for the Blue Points.
The less you mess with the Atlas throwbar the better, though I still recommend sticking in those little styrene shims in the channels on the throwbar to keep the points down:

I have some Bluepoints installed on my Atlas Code 55 switches... And I installed them using the hole at the end of the throw-bar.

They've been working fine for 4 years now.

Thanks guys. I seems pretty obvious that drilling the Atlas throw bar was a bad idea, but  I figured I would ask. Thanks for the tips MC. I have been through all of your threads picking up hints. The videos are great. Thanks for taking the time to make them.

Best wishes, Dave
