I myself might be hesitant to start cutting apart these Fox Valley cars to make wood chip cars from: While I may have the same financial motivations that the Milwaukee Road had for conserving my resources, I feel that these models are far too fine to start chopping up, and the price per car is a little bit of an incentive to keep them in as original a condition as possible.

It sounded like a good idea at the time... too bad the caboose wasn't in on the plan.

I was just saying, being there's no alternative N scale model of the woodchip version, the option of kitbashing these cars exists.  Besides, a well-executed kitbash might increase the model's value by making it a one-of-a-kind or of limited availability, if one decides to build a small fleet.  Another option is a well-executed kitbash made into a mold for duplication, for personal use only of course.
Failing to prepare is preparing to fail.

Or at least double-door rib sides to make them ourselves.  Some of the single doors I picked up may be slated for the same fate. Not sure yet though.  All around a great model though, and sorely needed to add variety to my fleet.

Well there's variety, and then there's cars that might have never left Washington State.

True, they were not used system wide, being primarily relegated to Washington, Idaho and Montana, but hey, I intend to have a layout depicting one of the three of those states.
