Micro-Train Couplers on AC-12

 :o
Just noticed that the MT couplers on the InterMountain AC-12 are constructed different from the regular MT couplers: NO SPRING!!
The front is a regular MT coupler but in the box it looks like a Accumate???(i.e. two plastic barbs acting as springs)
Does anybody know if this is a special construction for the AC-12 or will MT release these "no slink" couplers for everybody?

THose aren't MT couplers (despite of what is stated in the locmotive's documentation which came with it)!  Apparently they changed their mind about using MT couplers. I asked IM about this discrepancy but never received any answers. Those IM "MT" couplers appear to be some sort of a generic knuckle coupler which looks sort of like cross of accumate and MT coupler.  Weird, eh?

Thanks for info.
After using these couplers for a while, I did replace them with real MT couplers.
I soon discovered that they were a knock-off when I tried uncoupling them using the MT magnets.
