Railfanning last week in Green Bay, WI:
CN SD40-2 works the SaniMax siding
A Tom Mann Special hiding in the shadows
The official Prototype for Atlas Snap Switches
A divided gon from Gopher State Scrap Metal:
Sadly no E&LS this trip, but I apparently missed two SD9's that previous Sunday by about 2 hours.

Down the road from me the old Erie main branches off with a line to Lisbon, OH to coal fields. The line used to cross the PRR/NS and they removed the bridge for clearance:
http://binged.it/RGIY8L
They lifted up the side of the bridge near the tracks and installed a new bridge over the tracks for a bike trail. Now I can take my bike over it.:
The main center span used to be a wooden covered bridge that was replaced with the current bridge in 1901. At one time there was another covered bridge right next to it carrying a narrow gauge line.
On the bike ride down a ways the old line dips under the B&O/CSX:

I guess a bike trail is better than nothing.

I rarely snap proto pictures these days, but I was in BC on holiday and spent a little time on the CP Mountain and Shuswap subs. My SLR died on the trip, so these are from a point and shoot.
The only train I saw was this westbound potash coming out of the Kicking Horse Canyon:
A little while later, it sat idling in the evening sunshine in the Golden yard before heading west to Rogers Pass.

A couple photos of the 765 and company at Altoona and Cresson on 8/20. The PC Heritage unit went east; I caught it at Lewistown and again near Duncannon on my way home.
Here's the Juniata Valley train reflected in the river on its way to Lewistown. It was hard to choose between following that down street tackage, or trying to catch up to the 765. I chose the 765...
Here's the 8100 about to pass under 17th street in Altoona. (I had been shooting video of the 765 up to this point, so no stills coming towards the camera.)
...and going away...
At Cresson the sun came out, along with hundreds of people. (BTW, the park at Horseshoe Curve was charging $20 to go to the top. I wasn't the only one who chose to go elsewhere...)
Finally, the 1073 leading an eastbound trash train through Lewistown in the rain. Some folks present at Cresson earlier that day thought it was somehow fitting that the PC unit would be leading such a train...
Even though it was a lot of mileage for a few photos, it was still better than a good day at work!
