Last Wednesday NS118 Derailed on NS Piedmont Division at Mt. Airy Georgia. This resulted in Amtrak detouring the Cresent over CSX from Spartanburg to Greenwod SC and then from there on the ex-SAL Abbeville Sub to Atlanta. Since I had the morning free, I was able to catch it coming thru Winder in Daylieght, the bonus was it was being lef by the Phase IV Heritage engine. Here is the Crescent coming thru Downtown Winder.

Its collapse is well documented: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kinzua_Bridge

Whatever happened to the Knox & Kane's diesel power? I know the 2-8-2 wound up in good hands on the Valley Railroad but IIRC they had some neat stuff like WM chopped GP9s. Was any of that equipment saved?
