I usually post on the N scale side but this photo has O, HO and N scale in it so I hope everyone will enjoy. The photo was taken on a diorama I built representing Chicago Union Station.

Yeah but where is the Z?   :D

Great shot! I find most forced perspective shots don't quite look right, but this one is great! Good job!

It's a great shot Bill and the modeling is superb as always, though I think the N Scale tail end Obs car could benefit from being a couple of tracks further over to really pull it off.
The difference in size looks to great for the distance they are apart.  Does that make sense?

I'm not as thrown off by the car in the background, than by the gauge of the O scale track. It's an awesome photo, but might benefit from S scale track in the foreground instead of O.

Yeah, I didn't think of that. S scale would have been better.

Quite clever! As for assessments, I agree with the other commenters: S scale bumper and rail for the foreground, and move the obs car back, say, one more track. Also... those lights hanging from above? Are they all the same size (it looks like it)? Creates a problem for the one toward the back.

Would be fun to try a similar scene using TT/N/Z.

Looks great Bill, although It would look much better with a Skytop observation car somewhere, or do I have the wrong station? Could you post an overall view of the diorama? It is always interesting to see the bigger picture.  Is there room to move the N scale model over a track as was suggested?

Best wishes, Dave
If you lend someone $20, and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.

Dave, you only have the wrong side of the station. Milwaukee was on the north side and the "Q" on the south. I could move the N scale car over but to me it looks fine.

David, yes, the back light is the same size. Don't remember what I used or if it was available in a smaller size. I built this diorama quite a few years ago. Just dusted it off for a new photo.

Thanks Bill. Very interesting. Amazing how a relatively simple diorama like that can look so cool. It one of those I could have done that....but of course I didn't think to do it.
You really have "that vision thing"!

What a neat project Bill. It would be fun to revisit this idea sometime with everyone submitting their attempt using whatever scales they choose/have. I have Alaska in all but the S and I'm not sure I could pull it off as well as you did. It would be fun trying and would be quite interesting to see other's attempts as well. Sure gets the creative juices going in the brain. Thanks for dusting it off and sharing this with us!

I think the obs is far enough back but you see too much of the roof of the car. On the next setup you just need to raise the tracks and platforms a bit as you get farther back in the scene. The flat diorama isn't adjusting for the the vanishing point of the floor.

Mike nailed it.

There was just something off with the obs and that is indeed it.   It's like your ground level at track side and at an elevated position all at once.
