Be carefull Dave, you're letting the steam side show through. The Conrail and PC guys are going to feel jealous.

Images like you videos portray are why I model the steam era. Nothing like a living, breathing, machine up front struggling to pull a train. Diesels are just so dull. (Well, some Alco's come close to steam for the noise and clang factor.)

Now if someone could just get Broadway Limited to actually deliver the N Scale M1a they have promised for years.

I figured that kitbashing one myself would make it happen.  That's the First Law of Model Railroad Irony, i.e., build a complex and unique model from scratch and as soon as it's finished, it will appear on the hobby shop shelf.

That several years later the First Law has not been made manifest in a PCM/BLI M1a, I am inclined to believe it will never progress beyond vaporware.

It's going take someone to get the ball rolling on this Pennsy steam thing. There's nothing out there like it, but there's probably no single road that could inspire more sales of certain steam locos either. Getting the videos of models and the real thing out to more people can only help.

I'd take an M1a or two now!

There are some great vintage Pennsy steam clips on YouTube, and you just have to wonder if bringing some of these machines to N-scale would create a whole market in itself.  Just fantastic stuff...

Here's a neat one:

Awesome footage.

And what was that. A pickle tanks car, or were those vinegar tanks?

Looked like a pickle car.  Sure would like to know if they ran into New England, as I would like to add one to my freight roster.

Dave, I think you should let us all borrow yours. Round robin, it should get back to you in a decade or two.  :)

She has a few "issues" at the moment.  I need to tune her up again.

Dave,

Video looks great! I'm always amazed this stuff is shot on a door . . .  :D

I think you'll see some PRR-specific steam in N scale at some point in the future - but the everything from the economy to the turmoil with the various factories in China needs to calm down a little.

One thing I think we MAY start to see is a trend away from the "specific detail" plastic models back to the more "generic" models in an effort to reduce production cost.

This is the exact excuse for the BYR "Steam Program" otherwise known as the Excursion Fleet ;)

Nice stuff Dave!

Sweet video Dave.  Inspired me to bid on a GHQ L1s conversion kit on ebay.  I lost out on the auction for this one.  Eventually I'll get the courage to hack into the Trix B6's and K4's that I have and attempt an H9/H10 using the Bachmann 2-8-0.
