Chuck,
I've had the pleasure of seeing this layout up close and personal at two of the Council Bluffs, IA train shows in the last couple of years.
The photos DO NOT do this layout justice.
The details on this layout are exquisite and rival some of the layouts that have been shown here on The Railwire!
The coaling tower looks as if it's been poured from real concrete, the barbed wire fencing, the grass and the trackwork are fantastic.
You can almost feel the hot Wyoming winds blowing.
The sad thing about this layout is most visitors at the show would past this up in favor of the other modular layouts in the hallways because they were larger, had more trains and typical "Out of the Box" scenery with lots of buildings and trees that was crammed into place.
What this layout did not have was long trains that were running as fast as they could, it did not have any Thomas The Tank Engines or Tornados with the Wicked Which flying around, in other words, "EYE CANDY.
What it did have was DETAILS!
