The other night I started chopping, slicing and shaving styrofoam for the NCR layout. This was made a lot easier (but slightly messier) with the newest addition to my arsenal. A "Japanese Flush Cut Saw" from Harbor Freight (why pay more for something to cut styrofoam?):
http://www.harborfreight.com/japanese-flush-cut-saw-39273.htmlThis thing is really handy. I wish it came in longer lengths. It's flexible, which makes making realistic contours easy and thin, which makes slicing through the stuff easy, even at deep depths.
It's also SHARP.
It doesn't quite have the finesse of a cheap serrated steak knife, but I've been pretty happy with it so far.
