GN Big Sky Blue anyone ?

          I know some people are probably tired of seeing the same scsne over and over,and others will like these photos. These are the last shots of Great Northern Railway Trains visiting Nate Goodman's layout. A passenger train in the later "Big Sky Blue" paint scheme.The cars are Con Cor,Brass Car Sides on Con Cor cars. The locomotives are Intermountain. Another good model railroading friemd Ralph Huddlestone,who now lives in Southern Utah built and painted the Blue Brass Car Sides cars for me (I did the orange ones).He used Floquil paint to match the con Cor Blue color. The IM F Units are darker Blue. Somewhere inbetween the two shades is what I believe the color should be. Coming soon different trains,different roads and a suprise.           Here are the remaining Blue Train photos, no I don't mean the Famous South Africain"Blue Train".   Geez,don't you just hate the bright red seats in those Con Cor domes.    Sorry,it looks like we are stuck with one last photo which somehow did not link on previous Reply. Got to show the end of the train no Blue obs cars ever were painted or ran on the EB or W Star trains.           Nate Goodman (Nato). Nice work Nate; I am also building a brass side BSB consist; working on the sleeper section now but have been haulted by a lack of decals (MS now has them back in stock) I "gave in" to my desire for a observation for the rear and made a "modelers decision" that the "Port" cars were retained and painted in BSB.....so kill me...



I also used the brass sides for the great dome - nice project; albeit a wee bit distructive to sind up the sides............



I'm really loving your passenger stuff........keep it comin !

     Pud, I really like your Sky Blue train. I have one of the Mountain Series Con Cor Obs cars in blue and sometimes run it because as you said the train just is more correct with a tail end car. My Blue Dome lounge car,made like the Orange and Green car in the other photos ,before Brass Car Sides,is stored away somewhere in my vast collection,I couldn't find it for the photo shoot. I ordered the Brass Car Sides dome lounge sides anyway,although I doubt I will do two more cars,a orange one and a blue one.    Nate Goodman (Nato).
