Wow! Nice!

I like how tall they look. I want that feel for my layout where the majority of structures are taller than the standardized eye height for the layout of 5'08".

The open windows are the standout. It gives the buildings a better feel of being used.

Wehlan has a Yahoo group following construction of the layout. He built the structures first. Now comes track.

The window's cranked open are so accurate and realistic.  Of course, working in O scale helps . . . though I bet we could  do that in N scale if we really tried . . .

I have done it on several of my N Scale structures in the past. It's not that hard to do.

I use printed acetate for this type of window, and all you have to do is make a double line around the sash that you want to "operate", then carefully cut above and below the center, then gently twist it out into position.  You don't even need glue.

This doesn't have an operating sash, but you can see how easy it would be to add one.




I did this on the auto plant I built at the Delmarva club, but I don't have any good pictures of it.

Ngineering imports a set of photo etched industrial window inserts that have draft windows which have tabbed centerline mullions so that they can actually be pivoted out.



Hard to tell with this low quality image, but the arch-top windows on the right are the ones I speak of. We could use more of a variety of this sort of stuff to make scratchbuilding a tad easier and increase the flavor over just the Grandt Line offerings.
