Eventually, these became Norfolk Southern's; I'm not yet sure as to what numbers they received, more research is in the works.

Nice.  What medium do you plan on creating the model from - brass, styrene, or RP resin?

I'm going to mill the frame from brass with a CNC machine a friend of mine just acquired.  The hopper will be brass sheet, and the body will be wood if I don't end up etching the sides.

Damn, I have that same version of autoCAD and don't know how to do 3D on it. The booklet I bough doesn't cover the 3D at all.  :-[

It's orthographic view. When you are setting up your grids and snaps, there is an toggle box for "Isometric snap."

I don't have autocad, but I've taken 3 years of Autocad classes.

If N scale had good SD40-2s, C30-7s, U30Cs, SD45s, SD40s, and SW10s; I'd be in N scale.

Actually, it is true 3D.

I took AutoCAD in high school as well, and we didn't learn 3D there.  I learned when I went to work for a civil engineer and had to.
