So when are you going to get started?

i have already started.

He's farther along than I am. I don't have the room for even the smallest layout at my place.

Besides, we all know how it's possible to take a while to complete even small projects sometimes. I've got so many half-finished freight car kits in my supply, I'm sure a lot of people out there that can relate to that...

was working on laying out the cuts for the plywood last night on the second sheet.  it's amazing how much deviation there is on a sheet sold as 4x8.  you'd think it would be somewhat square as well.  wow.  i have to layout everything again - i measured from the cutting edge - don't do that - measure from the side you are keeping!

How long will it be before they show us how to add DCC to a tree?

Ouch!

Hopefully the errors were in YOUR favor...

The ply's for the roadbed right? Are you doing spline (like the mod-u-trak guys), or cookie cutter?

You're doing Homasote over ply, right? Hopefully you'd be able to compensate for some errors with that. Unless you're laying down cork right on the ply...

for the one lobe, i was a little short o since the radius is 3' from the edge.  measuring a foot in left me with less than 3' - that would have sucked - i would have had to make the curve sharper.

for the yard and staging, i'm putting homasote on plywood.  for the main i'm doing HO homabed and N cork to get a nice raised look - the cork covers the homabed gaps so you don't waste all the ballast.
