Seriously with all the money they are making on the website biz, how hard is it to hire some 20 something struggling student (like all the others they've hired before) to proofread a page and send it to "print". Maybe add a content editor too.  Don't even get me started on how the whole webpage although pretty works on stoneage techniques of manual updates.

Don't get me wrong I like the site it's where I do 99% of my business but for all it's blessings there are equal annoyances to a once web developer!  ;D

Umm, who do you think they're paying to actually run it!

It's not all manual anymore, they're using a shopping cart product that spits out fake URLs. It's kinda weird, but I deal with stuff like that all day. Dynamic creation, static delivery...

Thats my point. Some parts are some parts aren't and it's bloody apparent. Yeah I know they are using a shopping cart, I told them they could go with that or continue to update manually and told to go fly a kite with a pink slip back during Web 1.0. Additionally there are no data standards, noone revisits data and checks it/revises it (in the psuedo description the FEC GP-9 its still TBD on price (and yeah I know its in stock but that TBD is flipping annoying!). I'm just saying they need just a little more work/bodies/effort to clean it up, correct dead links and fix some of the annoyances.

Oh yeah, absolutely. It's a web operations management nightmare... always has been.

I'm betting they're just happy to keep their heads above water.

But yeah, I definitely agree, a few extra bodies would make it much better. But then again, what organization wouldn't benefit from a few extra hands and brains?

Extra brains are of no use if the one at the top isn't open-minded (excuse the pun).
Failing to prepare is preparing to fail.
