By popular demand...  I balanced the lighting a little bit and supersized it for you!  Makes a lovely screen wallpaper!

Hmm, something looks odd about the ends of those ties.

I bet that was NEVER a thought that you ever would've thought crossed anyone's head in N scale...

Thank you Lee for supplying additional info about your homemade trees.
Unfortunetely I live in an apartment, so growing such a big bush on a balcony would be rather difficult.
I'll ask my sister , who has a backyard, to grow them for me.
When I visited her 2 months ago I collected some wild blueberry plants.I think they should make nice trees.

Nandina berry clusters work nicely too.  I've got a jillion of them in the yard, but harvest time isn't until fall.

Nice supersize.  But I think I like this one even better (from you Aboard post).  It's got a great deep woods flavor:

Send one of these to Trackside Photos and parlay that scene into a bit of cash.

I should have dusted the river first though... :P

Only a Model Railroader would say that.

Won't work in MR...  It's N scale with SCALE RAIL and LOW PROFILE wheels.  N scale is A-OK if it's N-scale High Rail in a coffee table.

I pulled together a bunch of what I consider my best shots (before this most recent round with trees) and pulled together a CD, and sent copies to MR, N Scale, and NSR.  I've also got an article written about the auto rack loads, but I need to take a few more pictures for it.

Right now in Lee World, it's Anything for a Buck!

Lee, what is your long term experience with those trees rotting away? Is the paint sufficient to preserve them?
On the other hand, rotting trees would give another touch of reality on the layout...

The paint seems to do the trick.  The ones I did with the sedum seem to be more brittle, but as the little tufts break off, it adds to the ground cover...  I have to build some more of them to fill in an mix up the forest a little.

Good to know about the nandina and butterfly bush - I've got both in the yard. On the other hand I'm not sure how they would look on unfinished benchwork. Perhaps by the fall...

Thanks, Lee.

Yeah, I guess the limbs braking off make a better ground cover than we could ever do it.
