PRR Pipe Railing

Right from Jerry's PRR Want List. Yields SUCK, but it was doable at a reasonable price. Kit comes with 24 dual-sided stanchions that are folded together to get all of the cast detail. Enough .010" wire is included to build 200 scale feet of railing.

Nice, Bob!

While the bridge examples appear to be somewhat of an exception -- the PRR typically used three rails in passenger areas and two rails in non-passenger areas.

Any thoughts of doing a two rail version?

My Sherman's Creek bridge module, for example, correctly has the two rail version.

I saw those as one should naturally expect on the LIRR at various places . Here is a shot of the boardwalk that interconnected the #7 subway line and the LIRR at the 1964 Worlds Fair .

Glad you like them guys. In 4 hours since I originally posted, I have 22 orders. Not bad!! Completely wiped me out of my first production run.

Jerry, the artwork is already done. I'm trying to get the yields up so I can drop the price. I lose 40% of the pieces since the metal stanchion legs are soooooo thin. Thin legs are good for the model, bad for the costs. I'll have the 2-Pipe out soon.

I also finished the master today for a new Oil Storage Tank for N. It's big, 6" (80ft) dia x 3" (40ft) height. It will have spiral stairs, railings and a walkway on top. Should be neat.

Bob, that new tank sounds great! Of course, I want some of the REALLY big tanks you see at refineries. Some of those run 200' in diameter. Making the tapered cone for the top has been my un-doing at scratch-building them. :P
