Athearn PS Boxcar Question

I had a quick question for anyone who has one of these.  How big is the door on Athearn's 50' Single Door PS Boxcar?  I've never bought one, and I never think to measure it at my LHS when I see one.  Thanks.

Should be 10 feet.

Should be, but I'm not sure it is. :P Not being anal-retentive(oh yes I am) but the "rolling pins" and spacings aren't quite right either. Learned that from Hundman's articles on PS-1 boxcars. Unless you have a photo and look at the end of the car, you'd never notice.

I had thoughts of painting one of these to a Conrail (ex P&E) 944B if it had a 10' door.  Now, I am having second thoughts.  I wanted to use this car instead of the MT car since the MT has an 8' door.  I guess I'll move onto other projects.  Thanks.

Sorry I don't have one on hand to measure the door...it's close, but I haven't measured one. That's what I meant. :-[

The door edge to edge is 9.5', a tad small.

I know we're talking about 1mm here, a bit less really, and I couldn't really say it looked "wrong" or out-of-proportion, but somehow it doesn't look exactly right, and I didn't know the door was a little narrow. How can we spot something off that little? I know if I hold and look at a #79 drill bit and a #80 at the same time, I can tell the difference. I've always thought the old MDC boxcar doors(50' sliding door) looked "off". I don't know if they're narrow, wide, or right-on, honestly.  ??? What's with the eye and the brain?
