Airbrush 101

Ok, so the airbrush I got (Badger 155) is just the nozzle.

I know I need a compressor.

I guess I need a bottle, is this a set of parts or is this sold as a "unit" at the LHS?

What else do I need? (aside from paint  )

A color cup is a cup that holds the paint - it "fits in" to the airbrush.  It is easier to transfer paint to it than to the bottle.

You need a moisture trap, a hose, and if it's in your budget, a booth for ventilation.  If I could do it over again, I would have started with a booth right off the bat.  The badger booth at micro-mark for $200 is fine.

You need pantyhose. Its a cheap filter. Nothing mess up a paint job more then a clog airbrush.

I bought the Anthem 155 from the Badger garage sale on their web site.  All that came was the brush.  It has been a challenge finding the rest of the parts.
Make sure when buying parts, they are for the 155.  There are color cups and bottles that are designed for other Badger airbrushes that are not correct for the 155.

So I got a hose, 2 color cups (one for airbrush cleaner and one for paint), a couple of bottles.

I am good to go.

In hindsite, it would have been cheaper to buy an Anthem 155 set that included the hose, color cup, bottle and case.
