I'm really surprised Atlas has never released the U25B in the MEC's Harvest Yellow scheme.

Oh well, I already have a pair . . .

those 8-40Cs are very tempting to making me model the UP in west Texas, only thing now would be for a redo of the C30-7s, too!

I personally would love to see Atlas release the phase IV version of the U25B. I would purchase factory painted units to replace all of my old Atlas/Kato non DCC U25B's. And then by shells to paint to redo my DCC ready Atlas/China mechanisms.

I would also like to see Atlas tool a phase III RS-3 shell for their mechanim.

I'd also like the Phase III RS and also Phase II GP-9.  Of course, any of the Alco S series switchers. And last but not least anyBaldwin roadswitcher.

Bob, the Atlas GP9 is a phase II. ;)

I'll go out on a limb and guess that you meant Phase III GP9.

Yeah, I meant Phase III.  Their old GP-9's were Phase III but the bodies don't fit on the newer chassis.  Think they wer made to fit on the same chassis as the RS-11.  Lease that's what I've been told.

Wrong phase...

So the Rock Island engines Atlas released were not the correct phase, or were they a different phase from the CRIP engines that went to the MEC?

When I did my models for MR I added some details to match the MEC prototypes - I also added a center post to the windshield.

I have two Atlas U25B's from their first run back in the "80's.  These are the worst running engines I have and I can't even begin to estimate how much time I spent tinkering with them they just refuse to run like all my other Atlas units.  I keep them as they are my "jinxed" units and thus protect me from acquiring any more "jinxed" engines.  Or so I tell myself.
