I do wish there were scenes similar at any local track. I might give up modeling to become a full time rail fan if that were the case.

Since they are the property of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, they both now repose in the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania at Strasburg, PA, across the street from the Strasburg Rail Road. In better days they pulled a Santa Claus train on Conrail into Lancaster, PA, annually.

Especially because I DID climb all over it (ok, well, not ALL over it, but at least into the cab) when I shot these:

It does kinda bug me though, because NS painted the thing, they screwed some stuff up: the anti-glare panel on the nose was a late CR thing, as were the black walkways, AND the font  they used for the "CONRAIL" on the nose is questionable at best.

But at least they used black number boards.

No, the worst thing was that not only did NS paint, but it was painted at Juniata. I can see how they had been used to applying the anti-glare panel and just did it automatically, but screwing up the CR font in a former CR shop is just plain wrong.

But I suppose you get what you pay for....
