I've seen this on Google Earth and wondered what it was. The line is the old Erie mainline at Brier Hill near Youngstown, OH. on the grounds of the old Jeanette blast furnace.

There are a bunch of cement trucks parked close so that may be the reason for all this slag.

Cool Chris, kinda like the Boston Sand & Gravel facility that NHN serves in Boston. The 70 and 90 ton hoppers get loaded up in Ossipee, NH then brought to Boston where they are unloaded with a car shaker.

That is in the same area, I was there again today. BTW the guy who runs that blog (Rick Rowlands) was a friend of mine till I left that school in the 7th grade. I visited his property and got to talk after about 20 years with him.

Rick and I used to trade the Walther's catalog back-n-forth between study halls.
