How many use fasttracks?

I need to handlay about 2 feet of rail.  I was thinking about the fasttracks tie jigs, but am more concerned about accurately placing the rail than the ties.  Do the jigs have "guides" for the rail?

In n scale, I could pull this off; but in Z scale, I'm doubting myself. :-X

Hey I got a bunch of FT Z PC ties, laser cut wood filler ties, and one of Robert Ray's soldering jigs for the rail. You fill up the jig with PC ties and solder on one rail. Lay it how you like (it will flex) and use a MT coupler height gauge to solder on the other rail.

I could send some rail too, but you may have that already.

...not to mention I owe you  ;)

I don't use jigs because they woldn't work with my Code 25 rail. Anyway, I use 100% PC ties, and not PC/wood tie mix.

This is all the code 55 rail here, because it's going on a Z-Bend Track module so the track must match Marklin/Peco/MTL rail height, but the making of the handlaid flextrack part can be done with any code rail, as you just have to solder on the one rail.

After you have a piece of rail with ties spaced every 10th tie being a solder tie, I just glue a strip of wood ties under the one rail. If you use all PCB ties, you can just stick those underneath, but the point was to make flextrack out of handlaid track, so I can speed up the handlaid track process.

If you guys need any of these parts just email me.

Have you tried asking the Fast Tracks Z scale forum?
