Well after seeing all the stunning work on here i decide to try weathering a boxcar just to get some ideas on techniques and styles. Yes it was daunting but we gotta start somewhere so i gave it a light coat of floquil instant weathering then used a rust wash with wash/ rust powder round the door., im fairly happy with the result.

Are you
sure
that's a first attempt? Looks like you've had a lot of practice to me. Very nice job, period, never mind first attempt!

And nice choice for the car!

Thanks guys, yes it was my first attempt and if im honest was a bit of an accident as i managed to get some powder in the wash but kinda liked the effect as it gave a bit of texture to the rust streaks! Now i may be convinced to dabble a bit more

Hey Paul-20 times better than
my
first attempt!
Looks great-& sometimes a great technique comes about
by accident. (
Someone
had to do if first!)
Now go dabble some more.
