Bob,
Take a look at this one and let me know your thoughts. It's great to get feedback cause I'll have a correct looking gator at the end of it.
The prototype photo shows the sand fills and a skinny nose bit. But I may have got that a bit narrow?
I'll get a brake wheel and put it there - I'll get one from atlas and it'll be a little while til I get it (I'm overseas)

I'd better add the link eh  ;D

HMMM, you are right about those ATSF units, the SP and others I've seen have the small notches.  D&H has both factory and home done low nose RS11s, the factory units had small notches, the D&H units had the large notches w/fills.   ???

Mainline Modeler had drawings for the SP units and RMC had an article on upgrading some HO brass RSD15s for ATSF, including the modified dynamic venting.  Will have to recheck the pix in the article.

Cheers

Hi Bob,
Did you know what issue of Mainline modeller had the modified vents ? I managed to find a picture of an ATSF before the vents were modified but I haven't been able to get any dimensions of the big vent.
Thanks for your help :)

cheers
