Old PC Ballast car

Tom Stolte from Oddballs decals posts prototype pics once a week on the ALPS decal group I'm on. This week he caught an old PC ballast hopper in MOW Yellow, but so dusty brown I had to look twice. Now this car would be a challenge in any scale I think.

It's a 'Tom Car.'  Tom took the photo and it would be perfect for Tom to weather.

go for it! i am still looking around for the kits from eastern car works for them. even though ECW is gone, i'm still looking. those are old enterprise hoppers from the 50'/60's that CR converted to ballast service by cutting the roof off and converting the trucks to roller-bearing sets to be FRA compliant. not many had the true roller-bearing trucks as to the majority of them that had friction-bearing converts.

This CR patched one sat on the siding at Sterling for a # of months last spring
& summer-appears to be the same.
