Since I can't post on the Atlas forum, I am copying over Mike Lockwood's post from there. I hope you don't mind Mike?

This on again, off again project is now in the hands of Canadian Model Locomotive Works (CMLW) and they are looking for people to reserve them. As you'll see in the link below, they are keeping a running tally of reserves and once one reaches the "magic" number of 60, it will go into production.

If you have an interest in the M420W (or the HR412), you should reserve them so they can get produced.

This is my third time reserving this shell. I was looking for the P&W version, but the last time I reserved with Grant Eastman, he suggested that I reserve the CN version since it was close and the numbers would probably not be there for the P&W version. That still seems to be holding up.

I have again reserved my shell, but this time a CN version with the hopes it will get done this time. ::)

I saw a post from Derrick of CMLW that he needs all who reserved to contact him at info@cmlw.ca due to the possibilty of lost reservations. I did and got this response fyi.

Hi Bob,

Yeah, this little modeling project has been on again, off again, but I have had enough.  The master is going to be done in New Zealand by Mark 4 Design and there are not the problems associated with master delivery from other master makers.  The number are slowly creeping up to where it is doable.  The CN unit is going to be closest.  We are getting a couple each day, and I have just spotted a bunch of guys that said they ordered three each, but don’t show in the database.  That means there might have been a problem (and probably was) with the website update I did the other day.  So, ask anyone you know that may have reserved one of these to contact me at info@cmlw.ca and just re-verify that I have their name and reservation.

Look forward to hearing from you.

Cheers

Derrick

So these won't be resin? I hope M4D does side stills and walkways as well as the hood. I wonder what they will do for windows. At least M4D does great work.

M4D *may* only be doing the master - the production could still be resin....

I was gonna post it here... eventually. Just find myself too busy to do alot of the leisure activities I'd rather be doing. Post it to as many forums as you can!

Though I have lost most of my desire to see these models, I'm still in for four late CN units... they have been off CN 's roster for 9 years now (last one's retired in 1998).

I'd much rather see CN GP40-2L(W)'s & SD40-2W's... but you take what you can get, right?
