You just can't imagine how many of those steamers I have had over the years or still have and what I have done to some of them. One has become a more corect car for the Obs Car offered eons ago in Con Cor's Texas Special Train set. Probably my most famous conversion was in RMC in the early 1970's I converted one into a CZ dome obs car and won a Dremel in the Kit Bash award section, then I made a scoond car to use on a CP Rail Canadian train, this was way before Con Cor's first CZ Obs car or their current one which incidentally has the wrong height roof over the rear end. Then I did one as a RI car the model is based on a Golden State car although it also resembles Pre War Rocky Mountain Rocket cars. Oh wait a minute, we said steam locomotive, hey I've got a few of those old Atlas later Con Cor Rivarossi IHB 0-8-0 locomotives. That brings me to the story about the undec I bought to convert into a 2-8-0 with an MT conversion kit. The locomotive ran (runs) like a Swiss Watch a rarity for these locos, so I install the conversion kit and the side rods keep slipping, got a fellow modeler and then club member who is good at fine tuning these to look at it. Take the conversion off as an 0-8-0 it is nice as a 2-8-0 no go so we finally gave up and left it an 0-8-0. Well enough wasted bandwidth over an E Bay item. Nate Goodman (Nato).Salt Lake, Utah.
